Aileen Nakamura
President/Chair of the Boardhttps://scrutineers.org/media/media-inquiries/+1 (404) 992-7555 (Text first)Aileen, born and raised in Tokyo, is an election security advocate shaped by her family’s history—her father’s family was unjustly incarcerated in WWII Japanese American camps, and her father later volunteered to fight for freedom. With degrees in Computer Science and Cognitive Science from Wellesley College, she built a career in technology and marketing before turning her focus to election integrity in Georgia, where she has lived since 2007.
She has testified before lawmakers, observed over 200 hours of Georgia elections, and served as Assistant Secretary for the Coalition for Good Governance, including testifying as a fact witness in the 2024 Curling v. Raffensperger trial. Passionate about teaching students this history and advocating for transparent, secure, evidence‑based elections, Aileen is thrilled to work with Scrutineers and envisions a future where every voter can trust the security and accuracy of their vote.

Scrutineers Background
Scrutineers, a 501(c)(3) tax‑exempt nonprofit organization in the U.S., has a mission to educate, train, and mobilize nonpartisan election scrutineers to exercise public oversight and advocate for transparent, secure, and accurate evidence‑based elections.
Our vision is a nation where all voters and our votes are universally cherished as essential to ensuring that those elected to public office truly represent the honorable values and priorities of the people.
Millions of Americans are concerned about the security of our elections yet have no idea that there are actions they can take to help create transparent elections we all can trust. In our community, seasoned advocates share their expertise with newcomers, thereby equipping them to fan out to protect elections around the U.S. Our members learn the basics needed to become effective advocates for voting rights and election security.
We’re voting rights activists, election security experts, and pollworkers. We’re election officials, candidates and campaign volunteers. We’re parents and grandparents, students and teachers. We’re voters and we’re those who aren’t allowed to vote. We’re people who believe that fair and accurate elections are essential to the future of our nation.
